Fabrika Social Accelerator provides working space, mentorship and financial assistance to local teams with ideas of potentially great social value.

The Problem

Starting from music festivals, sport tournaments, street performances and charity events, to promoting differences, independent journalism, and transparency of the government actions – the number of local initiatives is decreasing drastically year by year. Our “State of Action” research has shown that:

  • 2 out of 3 people from Sombor are very interested in working on an idea that would improve the local civil situation;
  • 1 out of 5 has actually tried to execute their idea;
  • Main identified problems are: financial difficulties, no working space, lack of support from the local community;

“No one cares about our ideas” was the answer from a high schooler when we asked “Why haven’t you tried to execute your idea?”

* The survey was conducted in April 2015 on a sample of 136 people from Sombor aged 14 to 36 years.

Our Solution

Fabrika Social Accelerator will provide working space, financial support, and best mentors to work with local teams and help them execute their ideas.

Fabrika will support ideas that aim to bring Sombor and its citizens back to life, and to fight the veil of lethargy. We will support teams who want to work on creating a society in which one doesn’t have to be a member of a political party in order to get a job, and a society in which tolerance and respect thrives, regardless of one's race, gender, nation, religion, social status, or sexual orientation.

50% of the respondents said that Fabrika’s support would be very helpful in executing their idea.
